Amazingly, it's been 3 years since our last ecard! Time is flying by, but life is good...

Highlights of the 2016 included:

Colorado for spring break - which was really early this year - so we practically had the slopes to ourselves. I started snow boarding last year, so I alternate between trying to keep up with John and Katelyn, and picking myself up off the ground. Knee pads are a "must have" for next spring.

A quick trip to Washington DC to see the Lincoln Memorial, Washington Monument, and the David Riley Residence - all of which were amazing!

One of the highlights of kindergarten was the Daddy-Daughter Dance. Katelyn loved dressing up in a dress that was perfect for "twirling" and her sparkly, high-heeled sandals. (We frequently marvel at where this very girly-girl came from!) She picked out John's lilac shirt and purple paisley tie, since purple is her favorite color.

They enjoyed a fantastic evening together.

Summer started with a Disney cruise. Swimming with dolphins was great; the beaches were fabulous; the water slide on the ship was big fun. But the highlight of the trip was meeting Elsa and Anna from Frozen!

Before we even left the ship, Katelyn was lobbying to make the Disney cruise an annual event.

We welcomed Lovebug into our family
in August...

She and Katelyn (and Pooh, of course) quickly became inseparable. The squeals and barks as they run around the house are expressions of pure joy.

In other news:

Katelyn is 7 (going on 14!) Someone aptly described her as a "little ray of sunshine" and she certainly lights up our lives every day.

First grade is flying by, and if she's not running around with Lovebug, she can generally be found working on some type of art project, swimming, or doing aerial silks.

John is still racing up stairs in skyscrapers, and was 12th in a race up 72 flights. He's does crossfit 6 days a week, and came 1,861st in the international crossfit open - but felt pretty good about that, considering he couldn't even do some of the required exercises. He's looking forward to moving up to the next age group next year, so he won't have to lift so much weight. (One of the *few* benefits of age!) In case that's not enough exercise, he's also joined a rowing club.

Not tempted at all to run up stairwells or do crossfit, I still get out on the tennis court regularly. For the last 2 years, I've been working with a friend in a distribution business focused on the mobile industry. You should see me steering a loaded pallet jack in tight spaces, and I've become a pro with a tape gun! I love the flexibility, being able to really impact the business, and working with a good friend.

As I said, life is good!

We hope all is good with you, and wish you a very happy and healthy 2017.

Love,
Donna, John and Katelyn
